@streetheartstx Replying to @Dez Momma dog has been making progress every day since being rescued off the streets. I’m told she was a fearful stray in that area for about a YEAR and animal control made multiple attempts to trap her. I’m so glad I caught her off guard and was able to close her in that crate. She was so tired and ready to be helped. Now we can celebrate all her accomplishments and tell her how loved she is!
Kristin, a dedicated rescuer, was driving along a rainy Texas road when she noticed movement in the bushes nearby. Intrigued, she pulled over for a closer look and discovered an entire family seeking shelter from the rain.
Nestled among the bushes were a mother dog and her puppies, the latter playfully oblivious while their mother exuded a sense of sadness and defeat. With a gaze filled with despair, the mama dog silently pleaded for help, tugging at Kristin’s heartstrings. In that moment, Kristin knew she couldn’t leave them there another second.
Later learning that local animal control had been unsuccessful in capturing the mama dog despite a year-long effort due to her skittish nature, Kristin observed the mama dog’s cautious retreat as she approached. Following at a safe distance, Kristin watched as the mama dog cautiously entered a crate provided by someone. Seizing the opportunity, Kristin quietly closed the crate door, securing the mama dog safely inside.
Despite encountering difficulty latching the door, Kristin remained by the crate until her friend arrived to assist. Meanwhile, the mama dog lay inside, bewildered but unaware that she was finally safe.
Forgotten Coast Animal Rescue stepped in to care for the family. Though initially hesitant, the mama dog gradually warmed up in her new environment, her tail eventually wagging as she began to accept love.
“She was so tired and ready to be helped,” Kristin reflected. “Now we can celebrate all her accomplishments and tell her how loved she is!”
Once the mama dog and her puppies regain their health, they will be available for adoption, finally embarking on their journey to loving forever homes where they can experience the joys of life and love.
